Healthy Solutions for Schools
In an effort to help curb childhood obesity and improve children's health, Congress added to the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 wording requiring that starting school year 2006-07, school districts participating in the National School Lunch Program would adopt and implement wellness policies around foods served, nutrition education, and physical activity.
