Healthy Evidence Based Strategies - Part 2

Over the years, we’ve found that schools and youth leaders love it when Healthy Kids Challenge dietitians take the most current evidence based strategies and add our unique twist on healthy.
The twist on healthy focuses on 6 key health behaviors - the Healthy6  and our HEAR – SEE – DO approach.  In essence, we are able to transform current scientific recommendations into actions – actions that participants practice at all our workshops and events, and can be immediately implemented with the kids the next day.


The Healthy6 key behaviors are a combination of:

  • Centers for Disease Control recommendations – fruit and vegetable intake, physical activity and less screen time
  • Behaviors identified for academic achievement and wellness – breakfast and balanced intake through healthy snacks, beverage choices and serving sizes
