Healthy Balance = Smart Eating and Active Play

This week Meet the Eating and Activity Energy Balance Challenge with the following.

  1. Plan meals and snacks to fill half the plate with fruits and veggies.

Blueberries are in season! Try them in this yummy snack:
For each serving, mix the following:

½ cup frozen, unsweetened pineapple
¼ cup fresh blueberries
¼ cup sliced banana

Top with:

1 Tbsp. vanilla yogurt
1 Tbsp. granola or crushed cereal

  1. Keep kids in motion!

Ask kids to think of their favorite sports. Call out the different and have act out the motions. Ski, swim, play basketball – tennis – golf – volleyball and more!

As an option, younger kids will have fun acting out the motions of their favorite animals or other creatures. Do you know how to move like a duck? Or have fun hopping like a frog?
