Water is essential for life, but sometimes kids don't see why it is important to drink. Help kids see the impact of water in our lives with trivia questions at your next dinner table meal!

  • Next to oxygen, water is your body's most important nutrient.
  • True or False: Physical activity, heat and humidity can increase our fluid (water) needs. True. In these situations keep water bottles close at hand and drink frequently to avoid dehydration.
  • How much water is used during the growing of a watermelon? Answer: 100 gallons.

Drink Think

Simple, Tasty, Healthy Shake Idea

It just takes 3 ingredients to make this fruity, bone-strengthening shake for breakfast or a quick snack!

Strawberry Yogurt Shake
Serves: 4 (roughly 1-1/3 cup servings)

Ingredients:

1 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
1-1/2 cup plain low fat yogurt
3 cups frozen, unsweetened strawberries ( 1-20 oz. bag needed)

Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until thick and smooth. Serve.
