Dairy Dazzling Calcium Carnival Event
Healthy Kids Challenge® action ideas recommend building on what exists. Other schools have used Dairy Dazzling and other HKC events as part of an existing school event.
The carnival is a unique interactive learning experience!
It uses simple, easy-to-find resources and active play to teach kids “3-A-Day Dairy” lessons!
From the very beginning, students make the carnival their own by creating the games! The booklet provides teacher guidelines for game development.
Use this carnival to add a nutrition-physical activity component to an existing event or as a stand alone event. Everyone has fun and learns through the process.
When the carnival is over, store the game materials and directions in resource boxes that teachers and community youth leaders can use for other learning opportunities!
Note: Dairy Dazzling Calcium Carnival was developed by Healthy Kids Challenge® as part of an educational grant provided by the National Dairy Council, Midwest Dairy Council, and Dairy Max. Schools and communities participating in the grant included Scott City Elementary, Scott City, Kansas and Clinton Elementary and Grissom Elementary, both in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
