This
three year Kansas Kids C.A.N. (Connect Activity and
Nutrition) grant, provided by the Kansas Sunflower Foundation,
is being led by Healthy Kids Challenge (HKC), with the
mission to use every day ways to guide schools, communities,
and programs in creating solutions to help kids and
families Connect Health And Needs, Get Excited (C.H.A.N.G.E).
Kansas Kids C.A.N. helps kids establish healthy eating
and physical activity behaviors by providing training,
ideas, and resources for kid influencers to incorporate
environmental change, role modeling and skill building
activities into their normal practices and existing
systems. The grant initiative is unique in that it integrates
change into an existing supportive regional
healthcare network and existing effective community
programs, so start-up time and resources are minimal.
