Families Take Healthy Action

Line

Take action everywhere kids live, learn, work, and play!

Regardless of weight, a majority of Americans are not eating healthy or getting enough  physical activity.  With better choices, we can hope to reach optimum wellness.  For children, the rewards are even greater!  Studies show there is a link with healthy eating,  physical activity and academic success.

Healthy Kids Challenge encourages you to start where you can with supporting community and school wellness actions or personal changes. HKC healthy eating and physical activity tips make putting wellness into practice easier.

In the community and schools

  1. Support healthy fundraisers such as Healthy Kids Dance™.

  2. At school or in community programs, provide  healthy snack options such as healthy trail mix, pretzels, low fat yogurt, orange wedges, or low fat pudding.

  3. Suggest and use healthy incentives such as extra recess or P.E., rather than food.

At home, work, or play, make Healthy6 personal choices that model healthy eating and and activity behaviors for others.
