With an abundance of beverage options, it is important to think about what we choose to drink.


 

Keep Hydrated This Summer

A lack of water can cause dehydration which can drain your energy and make you tired. Drink water often using these ideas:

Watch for Water: When at school, the office or out in the community, get in a routine of always drinking water when you pass a drinking fountain.

At Every Meal: Drink water with each meal; breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Take Water to Go: Carry bottled water in your lunch, backpack, car, or on a walk or bike ride.

Enjoy Summer Berries with this Healthy Shake

A fruity, bone-strengthening shake for breakfast or a quick snack!

Banana Berry Smoothie
Serves: 4 (roughly 1 cup servings)

Ingredients:

2 cups calcium fortified orange juice
2 cups frozen mixed berries
1-1/2 cups bananas, sliced
3/4 cup vanilla fat free yogurt
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
3 Tbsp. sugar

Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until thick and smooth. Serve.
